Finally Somebody Who Should be Waterboarded

Oh to be a fly on the wall during this meeting:
Mitt Romney endorser Ted Nugent will meet with the Secret Service Thursday...

Simple Answer to [Apparently] Complex Question

In the search for answers in the Trayvon Martin killing, in particular answers to why the battle-lines have crystallized so distinctly along the nation's entrenched partisan divide (with liberals lamenting that "We are all Trayvon Martin" and conservatives hinting that the wannabe gangster may have had it coming), it's always best to consider the simplest possible explanation: Conservatives are attacking the character of Trayvon Martin, and coming to the defense of George Zimmerman, because it pisses off liberals. That's how conservative assholes decide their opinions on most national issues.

Supreme Wingnut

When you consider that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia actually made the argument yesterday that the "individual mandate" in the Affordable Health Care Act is analogous to the government forcing private citizens to buy broccoli, you come to realize that even the leading lights of the conservative movement don't really think things through much further than your average wingnut newspaper commenter.

The Last Straw: Enough is Enough

I finally put my conservative tool Facebook friend on ignore because I got sick and tired of him using the word "then" when he should have been using the word "than."

Insult Comic Comes to SLO

People who see Ann Coulter as anything other than a bomb-throwing insult comic of the Andrew Dice Clay variety -- like the wingnuts in the comments of this article about her appearance last night at Cal Poly -- have her shtick all wrong. She doesn't give a shit about anything but pissing off liberals, though I will give her credit for being smarter than Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum and the whole sorry lot of Republican influence-peddlers.

And her books are not best-sellers! Their "bulk sellers," propped us for use as door prizes by right-wing propaganda publications that buy them by the tens of thousands.

To illustrate the delusional madness of the wingnut mind:
Bright articulate lady. I get tired of this political correctness. Obama is a terrible president and his wife is selfish and self centered for all the money she wastes on extra planes for vacations and the number of trips without any thought as to cost.
How about libs arguing facts with her and not just calling her names. I disagree with most of Obamas policies and can discuss them. The libs can't discuss policy but simply name call. --duke5 at the SLO Tribune

Doubling Down on the Craziness

Somebody actually signed his name to this:
While [New Jersey Governor Chris] Christie and [former Florida Governor Jeb] Bush might be fine candidates, perhaps the Republicans should consider a more inspired and game-changing pick: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas [emphasis added]. ...[A] Thomas candidacy would energize Republicans in a way that few other Republicans can and would steal tremendous media attention from President Barack Obama.

Elections Have Consequences

Mostly this sort of thing happens when there's a Democrat in the White House. You "might" be inclined to think there's some racism involved, but it doesn't really matter whether the man in charge is black or white.

These whack-jobs just don't like Democrats.

Can't Make This Shit Up Dept.

You gotta give the indefatigable birthers credit for sticktoitiveness. In a new twist, some wingnut in Alaska (not Sarah Palin!) has filed a lawsuit claiming Barack Obama is ineligible to run for president because he is of the "mullato race."

Presidential Apologia

Cue the wingnut outrage, President Obama has apologized for America again:
President Obama apologized Thursday in a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai for the burning of Korans at the largest American military base in Afghanistan. The incident at Bagram Air Base has fueled days of angry protests in the war-torn country, according to the White House and Karzai's office.
This particular apology should have the added effect of fanning the flames of teabagger screeching over Obama's African-based Muslin faith.

"We out-number the stupid people! Trust me, I counted 'em!" -- Hermain Cain

Epic recap of the first day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Yo Quiero un Embyrito

Seriously, you can't make this shit up.

"Let's Go Get a Taco"

Here's what you get when you put a double-digit IQ racist wingnut in charge of your city...

Here's the case to which the mayor is [sort of] responding.

Teabaggers don't know what "teabagging" is either..

I wonder if the people who complain about the "homosexual agenda being pushed down [their] throats" know how funny that sounds to the rest of us normal Americans? Haha...Just noticed the article at the link is bylined "Charlie Butts" (snicker, snicker).

"The Brain Damaged Cowboy rides again. Ride on, oh stupid one… ride on."

Video clip from Wonkette.

The comments section offers a treasure trove of comedy one-liners:

--"You know who else celebrates victory by shooting their guns in the air?"

--"Has anyone broken the news to him that it was Osama with an 's' as in shithead what got shot?"

--"The Brain Damaged Cowboy rides again. Ride on oh stupid one… ride on."

--"This video perfectly demonstrates why I so strongly support illegal immigration."

--"I'm confused: Is this top secret assault footage from before or after he administered bin Laden's kill shot?"

--"Ted Nugent is looking more and more like shit these days..."

--"It is always good during a great moment of national pride to remember we are, in the end, just a bunch of drunk assholes."

Some People are not So Good at Working the Old Twitter Machine: Freudian Slip?

I think the state of Virginia's Attorney General was trying to make a funny. I think he meant "virgins."

AZ Birther Bill Too Crazy Even for Gov. Brewer

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has vetoed a bill that would have required candidates for public office to prove their US citizenship by presenting a certified birth certificate. Short of such evidence, the legislation would permit office-seekers to show baptismal circumcision certificates (because we all know only real 'Merkins get baptized or sacrifice their foreskins for the glory of God). The measure was "a bridge too far," even for wingnut Gov. Brewer. There was no provision in the measure for female candidates unable to provide a valid birth certificate, for whom the circumcision angle would [presumably] pose something of a verification problem.

Homegrown Terror of the Christianist Kind

Note the dateline on this story (about which I've heard nothing in the national or even statewide news) and remember that New York Congressman Peter King has been holding hearings exclusively about Islamic terrorism on American soil. As far as I can tell, regular Americans have much more to fear from right-wing religious nuts than any ol' run-of-the-mill Muslin terr'ists.
MADERA -- A Chowchilla school bus driver has been charged with firebombing a Planned Parenthood office here last September, and authorities said Thursday he also is responsible for vandalism and menacing signs left at the city's Islamic center.

Donny Eugene Mower, 37, of Madera, was arrested Wednesday on federal charges of attacking a reproductive health clinic. If convicted, he faces a minimum of five years in prison.

The September firebombing came several weeks after someone threw a brick at the Madera Islamic Center and left signs there, including one that read, "Wake up America, the enemy is here."

Shawna Forde Gets the Death Penalty

And good riddance. Who is Shawna Forde, you may ask? She's a psychotic, racist, teabagger "minutemen" type in Arizona who took the GOP's anti-immigrant rhetoric straight to heart and shot and killed a Hispanic American man and his 9-year-old daughter.

Needless to say, this story, which represents the culmination -- strike that...the nadir, actually -- of the Palin/Beck/O'Reilly call to arms against Mexicans, gays, abortion providers, environmentalists and, of course, liberals, goes largely unreported in the mainstream media, where tortuous reaches for false equivalence compel reporters to speculate whether Jared Loughner may have been a "leftist radical" and David Gregory spends 5 minutes browbeating the president of the AFL-CIO into denouncing the "hateful posters" of the demonstrators in Madison, Wisconsin, when the real story there is that the protesters who spent the night inside the Capitol rotunda got on their hands and knees each morning to scrub the floors and clean the building.

The sad truth remains, it's the right-wing of this country that has gone completely, 100%, murderously crazy.
