Some Jokes Just Never Get Old

Am I right or amirite?

Looks like somebody finally wised-up at the Mecklenberg (Virginia) County Republican Party and made their Facebook Page private, but Wonkette has all the details here.

Rmoney's Tax Plan: He's Doing It Wrong

Normally I would say Rmoney's got this tax plan wrong, but proposals like this are a feature, not a bug, for Republicans:
Mitt Romney’s tax plan would be a boon for the wealthy, but a tax hike for 95% of Americans, according to a new nonpartisan study. [ed. note: emphasis added.]

IOKIYAR

Remember that one time the Dixie Chicks said that one thing about the Prez'nit of the Yoonited States of Amurka? Yeah, me neither.

As always, IOKIYAR.

Real Moms Don't Work

Now the the Romney camp (and the Republican Party as a whole) have themselves all worked up into a dither because some Democrat disrespected Ann Romney by saying she NEVERWORKEDADAYINHERLIFE!!!, it's worth remembering that there was a time the shoe was on the other foot. That was the time when Republicans complained, openly and derisively, about all those welfare moms sitting at home raising their kids -- and NOTWORKING!! -- on the taxpayers' largess.

The Most Fraudulent Budget in American History

Like Silas Marner, Ebeneezer Scrooge or Shakespeare's Shylock, the soulless misers in the Republican Party don't even try to hide their avarice anymore.
"...on Thursday Republicans in the House of Representatives passed what was surely the most fraudulent budget in American history.

And when I say fraudulent, I mean just that. The trouble with the budget devised by Paul Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee, isn’t just its almost inconceivably cruel priorities, the way it slashes taxes for corporations and the rich while drastically cutting food and medical aid to the needy. Even aside from all that, the Ryan budget purports to reduce the deficit — but the alleged deficit reduction depends on the completely unsupported assertion that trillions of dollars in revenue can be found by closing tax loopholes."

Casual Observation: On Splitting the Vote

The fact is, if it were only Rick Santorum or only Newt Gingrich running against Mitt Romney in the Republican primary race, the Frothy Mix or the Cheating Salamander would be crushing R-Money. Instead, the two are splitting the same voting bloc in nearly every contest.

Doubling Down on the Craziness

Somebody actually signed his name to this:
While [New Jersey Governor Chris] Christie and [former Florida Governor Jeb] Bush might be fine candidates, perhaps the Republicans should consider a more inspired and game-changing pick: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas [emphasis added]. ...[A] Thomas candidacy would energize Republicans in a way that few other Republicans can and would steal tremendous media attention from President Barack Obama.

Important Question in a Borderline Theocracy

"Remember Man that thou art dust, and unto dust thou shalt return."
Today being Ash Wednesday, do you suppose Rick Santorum and/or Newt Gingrich (each an alleged Catholic) will show up at the Republican debate tonight with ashes on their foreheads? That would be the strict liturgical requirement, no?

What does it mean if one or both shows up clean of forehead?

Republican Debate Yields Classic Comedy Moment

A brief clip from the most coherent exchange yet seen in any of the Republican debates:

Conspiracy Theory: Santorum Surges

Santorum's Three-State Sweep: Either way more crazy people live in Missouri, Minnesoota and Colorado than anywhere else in America, or all the wingnut Republicans got together and decided to throw the Frothy Mix a bone. Dude actually got over 55% of the vote in MO. WTF?

One thing's for sure, this night alone gives a huge boost to Santorum's shot at the #2 spot as the vice presidential nominee on Romney's ticket, and that is the best news President Obama could have gotten out of last night's vote tallies.

Assholes

Because we wouldn't want some poor kid somewhere ever to know the taste of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, now would we?

Flat Racist

Never let it be said some Republicans aren't just so flat-out racist they can't even see how offensive they are. Former Michigan Republican congressman Pete Hoeksrta is running for Senate up in the Wolverine state. He's defending the above ad...
“There’s nothing in here that has a racial tint at all...Well It’s not a stereotype at all. This is a — you know, through the creative — this is a young woman in China who is speaking English. That’s quite an achievement.”

Against the CW

Wait a minute, I thought is was the ACORN people and the Black Panthers who committed vote fraud?

Not so much, sez a jury in Indiana.

Matthews on the GOP Civil War: "Mishegoss"

Chris Matthews clearly loves politics, and he does hyperbole better than anyone else covering the scene. Here he is explaining what lies ahead for Mitt Romney in the wake of his total destruction of whatever was left of Newt Gingrich's character and reputation in Florida: "MISHEGOSS."

Hint: Newt will be playing the Samuel L. Jackson role.

Xmas in January?

Good Lord the Republican nomination race is off the rails nuts, so things could change in a heartbeat, but it looks like a real possibility that Newt Gingrich -- NEWT GINGRICH -- may end up being the GOP's pick to run against Barack Obama this fall.

I mean, WTF? RUFingkiddingme??

SCHMIDT: Look, I think, not only are we not moving towards a coalescing of support by the Republican establishment for Newt Gingrich, we're probably moving toward the declaration of war on Newt Gingrich by the Republican establishment. And if Newt Gingrich is able to win the Florida primary, you will see a panic and a meltdown of the Republican establishment that is beyond my ability to articulate in the English language.

People will go crazy and you will have this five week period until the Super Tuesday states which is going to be as unpredictable, tumultuous as any period in modern American politics. It will be a remarkable thing to watch should that happen in Florida.

Racist Jackals and Merciless Hyenas

The rise of Newt Gingrich says much more about the Republican voting base than it does about Newt Gingrich. He remains largely unchanged from the sanctimonious, arrogant asshole he was in the 1990s. The Republican electorate, on the other hand, has ripped away the mask of conservative moderation, only to reveal the ugly, bitter intolerance of its true self.

In 2008, GOP voters scoffed at the very notion of empathy and compassion. Now they are proving without question nor conscience that they have neither.
