AZ Birther Bill Too Crazy Even for Gov. Brewer

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has vetoed a bill that would have required candidates for public office to prove their US citizenship by presenting a certified birth certificate. Short of such evidence, the legislation would permit office-seekers to show baptismal circumcision certificates (because we all know only real 'Merkins get baptized or sacrifice their foreskins for the glory of God). The measure was "a bridge too far," even for wingnut Gov. Brewer. There was no provision in the measure for female candidates unable to provide a valid birth certificate, for whom the circumcision angle would [presumably] pose something of a verification problem.
