Fair is Fair When It Comes the "Upperdown" Vote

Funny how when the Republicans are in charge they're always clamoring righteously about the simple necessity of an "up-or-down vote," but put a brilliant, 39-year-old self-professed liberal from the Socialist Republic of Bezerkely up for a judicial seat and the wheels grind to a halt.

Although a vote on a judicial approval calls for a simple majority (51 votes), Senate rules require a 60-vote tally on the "motion to proceed to a vote." That's the recipe for gridlock, right there.
