We made this point a while back, and perhaps we should let the sleeping dogs teabaggers lie, but the Islamic community in San Luis Obispo quietly completed construction on a beautiful new mosque last year with not a peep of opposition from any crazy people. It's still there, a scant few blocks from downtown, a few parcels away from the police station, and it's like nobody even cares. Thank God.
PS -- Adding: I'm about equidistant from the mosque and the Roman Catholic Mission de San Luis Obispo. Every morning at 10 minutes to 7, I heard the mission bells clanging. I have yet to hear any Muslim calls to prayer at any time of the day or night. Allah Akbar.
