It looks like notorious psycho hate-monger Fred Phelps and his equally demented minions from the Westboro Baptist Church finally met their match over the weekend. After years of raising hackles across the country by showing up to protest at the most unlikely of places (i.e. military funerals, Holocaust museums, Matthew Shepard's funeral and, more recently, Justin Beiber concerts), the "God Hates Fags" contingent decided the Comic-Con gathering of super-nerd comic-book fans in San Diego would be a great place to preach their hatred.
Perhaps the less serious nature of the gathering had something to do with it, but the Phelps crew was greeted the only way they should be greeted: by a bunch of geeks bent on sublime ridicule. Much hilarity ensued.
