How a family that makes more than $250,000 a year can
still feel needy...
For the Parnells, their perception of themselves is based on the math. The value of their house is down $60,000. Ms. Parnell says the couple's gross income last year was about $260,000. Taxes, premiums for medical care and deductions for Social Security and their 401(k) contributions cut the gross to about $12,000 per month. The family tithes $1,300 a month at their church. Their mortgage, second mortgage and payment on land they bought is nearly $4,000 a month. Other expenses, including their family car payment, insurance and college funds, as well as basics like food, utilities and donations to charities, leave them with about $1,200 left over each month.
They've got $1,200 in disposable income at the end of every month, a veritable slush fund of wealth when you consider how many Americans are forced by circumstance to get by on that much as their entire
gross monthly income. Cry me a river indeed.
And what does that socialist liberal fascist Obama want to take away from them in additional taxes? Why he wants to make them pay $12 more a year in taxes, that's what! The bastard should be impeached I tell ya!
That's $1,200 a month extra AFTER they voluntarily give money to their church, pay for their house they still can afford and their additional land, the car they chose to buy, and the 401k that they're investing in FOR THEMSELVES. I think many of us are lucky to have any left over after scraping by each month.
