Tennessee Considers "Don't Say Gay" Bill

Maybe before Tennessee passes proposed legislation banning teachers from even mentioning teh gays, somebody ought to tell the bill's sponsor, state Senator Stacey Campfield, that he has a girl's name!?! Hahaha!! What a gay!

A burning cross stuck in the ground outside the bedroom window of a black Arroyo Grande teen Friday is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The teen, who was in the home with her sleeping mom, was confronted just after midnight by the blazing 11-foot cross after she heard a banging noise outside and looked out her window. She woke her mom, who told her to call 911.

I love how the authorities are "hesitant" to label the incident a hate crime, suggesting it might be little more than "a prank." Let's see...11-foot-tall cross burning outside the window of a black teenager's bedroom? Hmmm....what would history tell us about such incidents? Yes, this must be a "prank." What the hell is wrong with people?

This Story Pisses Me the Hell Off

You may recall hearing a few weeks ago about young Constance McMillen of Fulton, Mississippi. The 18-year-old’s name was in the news because her high school decided to cancel the school prom rather than allow Constance to bring her girlfriend along as her date. The criticism from the rest of the civilized world was pretty scathing (425,174 people joined the “Let Constance Take Her Girlfriend to Prom” Facebook page) and it appeared the school had relented, as a judge ruled they couldn't have the dance unless Constance was allowed to attend.

Turns out it was all a lie, the meanest of tricks, perpetrated on Constance by the hateful backwater hillbillies of Fulton, Mississippi, who concocted a “fake prom” for Constance to attend and threw the big bash for all the other kids at another location.

To avoid Constance McMillen bringing a female date to her prom, the teen was sent to a "fake prom" while the rest of her class partied at a secret location at an event organized by parents.

McMillen tells The Advocate that a parent-organized prom happened behind her back — she and her date were sent to a Friday night event at a country club in Fulton, Miss., that attracted only five other students. Her school principal and teachers served as chaperones, but clearly there wasn't much to keep an eye on.

Two of the "five other students" were special needs kids with learning disabilities.

Funny, huh?

UPDATE: Reports are this very same town pulled the very same stunt back in the '60s when a mixed-race couple wanted to attend their prom. Nice to see these jackasses saved their playbook from the mid-20th century.
