So the evidence shows the law firm of the Four Horsemen known as Spanier, Shultz, Paterno and Curley actively conspired to hide a pedophile in their midst, for the sole purpose of protecting the reputation of their institution football program. Who did these guys think they were? The Catholic Church?
With the release of yesterday's Freeh Report, and its revelations of an abominable cover-up of silence concocted by people who should have known better and should have done much, much more something to protect young boys from the monstrous crimes of Jerry Sandusky, I am reminded once again that in Italian, the word "Paterno" means, ironically and tragically enough:
"Fatherly."
