The "Craigslist Congressman's" seat in the House of Representatives (NY-26) went to the Democrats. Historically, the district is so heavily Republican that it had only gone Democrat once since 1953 (for two years 06-08) and only three times since the Civil War. The primary issue on the table was the Republican candidate's full-throated support of the Paul Ryan plan to eliminate Medicare.
