I knew it was St. Patty's Day in San Luis Obispo because I saw one guy crash his bike into a park bench and another dude getting a DIP on my way to work at 7:30am. Add to that two police choppers circling the skies (with spotlights) all. night. long. Seriously, only the SLOPD treats an Irish Drinking holiday like South Central LA after the Rodney King verdict.
