Japan Nuclear Crisis

I don't pretend to know much about nuclear power plants, but can't they just shut the damn thing down, even if slowly? And what's with using seawater to cool the reactors? When I took science back in high school water boiled at a paltry 212-degrees Fahrenheit. I'm guessing that's still true! Water wouldn't seem too effective in dealing with a bajillion-degree meltdown.

Meanwhile, back on the ground at the Fuckushima plant.
