I thought the name of Egyptian opposition leader Mohammed ElBaradei sounded familiar...turns out ElBaradei (who is gaining political clout by the day) was, along with Hans Blix, one of the leading voices of the "Saddam Hussein has no WMDs" crowd. And that's all you need to know about why angry wannabe-walrus John Bolton* and the rest of the Bush-loving neocons have come out so strongly against him. He was right; they were wrong. Of course, their opposition to ElBaradei pits them squarely against a burgeoning Democracy (not that it matters to them) -- and in support of Egypt's longtime dictator Hosni ("but he's our dictator") Mubarak. It's always all about winning the political game for them, and never really about the will of the people, no matter what they try to tell you.
*Some people consider Bolton a diplomat, but he has all the diplomacy of a armed robber waving around a .44-magnum.
