Thankfully, They'll Never Learn

Once again, California Republicans engage in an act of political self-immolation...
SACRAMENTO — The California Secretary of State’s Office on Tuesday authorized a signature drive by a "tea party" activist to put an Arizona-style immigration law before California voters.

Called the "Support Federal Immigration Law Act," the proposal was submitted to state authorities in September by Michael Erickson, a tea party activist in the San Francisco Bay Area city of Belmont and former chair of the Sonoma County Republican Party.
If its support of Prop 187 cast the CA GOP into the political wilderness for a generation, an all-out, anti-Latino signature-gathering blitz at shopping malls and movie theaters around the state (aimed at getting this abomination of a bill on the 2012 ballot), will surely doom the party to the dustbin of California political history forever.
