Bad Economic Indicator

In recent walks around downtown over the past few days, there's been a decided up-tick in the number of clear-eyed, clean, well-dressed, [apparently] sane and [allegedly] sober panhandlers. I figure that's a sign that the economy is getting worse, not better.
