Odd moment on MTP: The assembled group was discussing the new Arizona anti-immigration law. When former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s turn came he mentioned that conservative Republicans are the ones fanning the flames of anti-immigrant sentiment, and then deferentially excluded “my two moderate Republican colleagues on this panel” from that group.
“Wait a minute, Bill,” I said to myself, “one of the panelists is that beady-eyed, dim bulb, creationist, global-warming-denying troglodyte Mike Pence from Indiana! He’s no moderate.”
No sooner were these thoughts going through my mind when Pence, clearly offended, interrupted Richardson specifically to deny being a moderate Republican.
