Most of the boomtowns towns in the American fantasy-land known as the Old West had far stricter gun control laws than anything that exists anywhere in the nation today.
Tombstone, AZ; Carson City, NV; Dodge City, KS; Miles City, MT; Butte, MT; the Dakota Territory...political leaders in all these places were well aware of the danger of the gun, and most had strict rules requiring all cowboys and sod-busters -- not to mention gunslingers -- to check their weapons at the door.
It's time we do the same in modern American.
