The Republicans engage in hardball yet ultimately suicidal political games in order to shut down the government for no logical reason at all, then when the unforeseen consequences start making peoples' lives unjustifiably difficult, their response is to grandstand at national monuments, lambaste federal employees working for free and lobby to have national parks re-opened.
Meanwhile, Head Start and free lunch programs go wanting.
