I don't think I've ever seen a more complete smackdown than this clip of Iraq War veteran (and double-amputee) Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth's evisceration of a fellow "veteran" who has "gamed the system" by casting an old football injury as one sustained in war in order to receive preferential treatment in securing government contracts through the Veterans Administration.
The second half of the video is as withering as any you'll ever see from the halls of Congress....
"I'm sorry that twisting your ankle in high school has now come back to hurt you in such a painful way, if also opportune for you to gain this status for your business as you were trying to compete for contracts," Duckworth said.
"Shame on you, Mr. Castillo," she added. "Shame on you. You may not have broken any laws … but you certainly broke the trust of this great nation. You broke the trust of veterans."
