Sure he may have worked for Tip O'Neill and he may play up his Irish Catholic Democrat from Philly persona and all that, but I don't think I've ever seen Chris Matthews as openly, boisterously partisan as he's been over the past few weeks. I think he knows just how bad it would be for the country if the Republicans are put back in charge. He was despondent after the first presidential debate, and he was over the moon with joy after last night's second altercation.
I think the last thing he said in closing his show was:
"The stars are shining brighter tonight!!!"
