Would you call this photograph "pornographic," or merely obscene? A Republican congressman from Colorado had the pictured pulled -- sight unseen -- from a presentation regarding the effects of coal mining on the water table on the grounds that it was not fit for public viewing.
What the picture shows is a 5-yeard-old girl bathing in the filthy, polluted, orange-to-brown water that comes into her home, which is in West Virginia, the coal-mining capital of the US of A.
In fact, still without having seen the picture, the congressman went so far as to have the photographer, an award-winning anti-coal-mining activist, investigated by the US Capitol Police for trafficking in child pornography.
