Here in the United States we have breast cancer charities pulling funds from breast cancer screening clinics, and national politicians arguing against using state funds for women's health care. We have sanctimonious, patriarchal presidential candidates caterwauling against abortion rights, and television talking heads claiming it only makes sense sexual assaults will increase if we let women on the front lines in the military.
Sure, a lot of folks stepped up and complained about these outrageous, backward thinking rhetorical arguments, but could you imagine the hue and cry from just about every corner of American society if women protested for their equal rights the way they do in Europe? [NSFW]
