This article in the LA Times compares the general public reaction to the same-day executions of Troy Davis and Lawrence Brewer. Some are wondering how it can be that so many came to the defense of Davis, while so few spoke out on behalf of Brewer. Though the circumstances and particulars of each case were decidedly different, both men maintained their innocence to the end. I remain steadfast in my position:
The Lawrence Brewers of the world must be allowed to live, if only so that the Troy Davis's of the world do not have to die.The execution of one innocent man is one enough too many.
