Political Metrics on the Gov't. Shutdown

I know not all the metrics are identical, but isn't it just a wee bit interesting that the last time the Republicans rolled the dice snake-eyes on a government shutdown it was 1995 -- just a short time after they'd gained a majority in the House (1994), barely a couple of years after a Democrat assumed the presidency (1992) and following 8 12 years of economically disastrous Republican presidencies (1980-1992). Remember how that turned out?
