One particularly humorous aspect of NBC television's coverage of the crisis in Egypt has been the hotel balcony shots of anchorman Ron Burgundy Brian Williams and war correspondent Richard Engle. For every by-the-book who/what/where/why/when whiz-bang, bullets-flying report from Engle, we get a treacly, "God I love the sound of my own voice" soliloquy from Williams.
The look on Engle's face every time Williams goes into one of his "It was a dark and stormy night...into the breach rode the 300 600..." monologues says nothing if not: "Dude, I've been dodging bullets and IEDs over here in the Middle East for 8 freaking years and you parachute onto my balcony to deliver this scripted moronic baloney?"
