The recently elected Republican governor of New Jersey and his Republican lieutenant are both on vacation this week as the state grapples with a once-in-a-century Arctic snowstorm. Chris Christie, the caustic and rotund new governor who makes a habit of ridiculing his own constituents to their faces and turning down federal money already in the pipeline and bound for his state, is vacationing at Disney World in Orlando. Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno is down in Mexico.
This actually works out well for New Jerseyites, because the crisis management team is being led by Democratic state Senate President Stephen Sweeney.
