Complicated Question

If the word "whore" is as offensive [to women] as the "N-word" is [to African Americans] -- which is how Tom Brokaw set up the question during last night's CA gubernatorial debate -- then why could Tom Brokaw say the word "whore" on television, but not the word "n****r?"
