With all due respect to Magic Johnson, I'm pretty sure the teams he played on were vastly superior to the LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers. So when Earvin says he wouldn't have "teamed up" with other NBA superstars in pursuit of an NBA championship, he's leaving out the fact that he played with: the NBA's all-time leading scorer (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), a Hall-of-Famer (James Worthy), one of the best defensive players ever (Michael Cooper) and a whole host of other certifiable stars (Jamaal Wilkes, Bob McAdoo, Byron Scott)
So yeah, LeBron's a DB, but comparing Magic's cozy entry into the league to his is disingenuous at best. Now, Michael Jordan is a different story. His early teams were pretty forgettable, but he stuck it out and helped bring a winner to Chicago rather than "teaming up" with Isaiah Thomas or Karl Malone or Akeem Olajuwan (which I think would be comparable to what we saw in the LBJ/Wade/Bosh deal) to finagle a championship.
