After Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-Badass, NY) stood in the well of the House of Representatives yesterday and accused the Republican Party of being "a wholly owned subsidiary of the insurance industry," Rep. Dan Lundgren (R-WATB, CA) stood and demanded that "the gentleman's words be taken down." That exchange comes about :45 seconds into the clip below.
Later, while the chair was reviewing the transcript to decide whether Weiner's words were outrageous enough to be stricken from the record, Weiner, appearing mildly chastened, approached the podium, first asking that he be allowed to "substitute other words" and then requesting that the clerk "withdraw" his words so that he might amend his statement.
Weiner then clarified his earlier statement, saying:
