Memo to all SLO Party Crashers: Local political gadfly and unelectable wingnut Matt Kokkonen is hosting his very own "Town Hall" meeting Thursday night in SLO, 7 o'clock at the Sands Motel, 1930 Monterey Street. I'm figuring this gathering is going to be a bit more contentious than last Saturday's, but I'll be there, Obama t-shirt and all... Here's the text of the invite, which I only acquired because a woman at work mistakenly sent it to a few of the wrong people (if you know what I mean):
"Matt Kokkonen announced today that he will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on health care. "Our US Congressional representative Lois Capps is AWOL, Where is Lois? Health care is a critical issue facing our society. It accounts for 1/6th of our economy. Do you want the government to control this sector? Do you wan the government to make our medical care decisions and lead us into socialist medical care or do you believe that private insurance and capitalism will serve our society better. We need to make changes to our health care system, but is the government the right agent? "Let us hear from you," he said. [sic]"I'll be there with bells on.
