Do I ever feel dumb. I was singing John Edwards' praises to anyone who would listen for the better part of the past two years. Now this. I guess we should all feel lucky Edwards got out when he did, because if he had somehow managed to secure the Democratic nomination -- or even taken the Veep slot -- and then this news broke, well, say hello to President McCain. Right or wrong, fair or not, that's just the way things work in America.

Really the worst part of the whole sordid affair, aside from the fact that he trundled out his family for photo ops every chance he got, is that he was cheating on Elizabeth while she was recovering from cancer, and that puts him down in Newt Gingrich territory.
